To Jan, it just made sense to start offering guests food and drink during their visits to her rural property (the original Pineridge Hollow location). What started with sandwiches, scones and tea has become much more than our original tea house offerings. After moving to our new location, the restaurant began serving a menu of prairie cuisine - a showcase of dishes featuring distinctly Manitoban ingredients and our own spin on heritage recipes.
This style of cuisine is inspired by not only the bounty of the land and the people who live here, but the contrast of seasons, the things that we naturally desire as our environment changes. In winter, nothing is better than warm, comforting fare while in summer we crave fresh produce and grilled dishes.
We believe that food is nourishment for our bodies, minds & souls and that where our food comes from matters. From the beginning, it has been important for us to source as many fresh, local ingredients as possible and support our local farmers. We are proud partner with many local growers and farmers such as Nature's Farm, Bearcat Fisheries, Hildegard's Bakery as well as Oak Knoll Farm, our sister company which supplies fruit, vegetables, herbs, chicken and pork to our restaurant throughout the year.
