Introduction to Métis Beadwork - September 21
Slow down, create with your hands, and discover the beauty of Métis beadwork in this welcoming beginner workshop led by Métis artist Danielle Desrochers of Prairie Owl Beads.
Designed for those with little or no beadwork experience, this two-hour workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of one-needle beadwork while beginning a floral beaded pin. Participants will learn the basic techniques of beading while gaining an appreciation for the patience, precision, and artistry behind the craft.
Beadwork is a slow and intentional practice, and two hours is just the beginning. Participants will leave with a strong foundation in beadwork, their project well underway, and all of the materials and knowledge needed to complete their floral pin at home.
This workshop includes:
- One-needle beadwork technique and beading basics
- All materials and supplies
- Hands-on instruction in a supportive environment
- Instruction in both English and French
- Guidance to continue and complete at home
No previous beadwork experience is necessary.
*Pattern, background, and bead colours are customizable.
Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
We are excited to announce that we are a licensed venue! Feel free to head over to The Village Square and purchase an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage from The Square Bar to bring into the studio!
